Sexual Misconduct & Title IX

The Texas State University System (TSUS) and °µÍø½ûÇø (LSCO) are firmly committed to creating and maintaining educational communities in which each individual is respected, appreciated, and valued. LSCO's focus on tolerance, openness, and respect is key in providing every member of the LSCO community with basic human dignity free from all forms of Sexual Misconduct, including Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking. Any report of behavior that threatens our institutional values and breaches the TSUS Sexual Misconduct Policy shall be promptly investigated and remediated in accordance with principles of law, fairness, and equity to all Parties involved.

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs and activities. Sexual harassment of students or employees, which includes acts of sexual violence, is a form of sex discrimination prohibited by Title IX. °µÍø½ûÇø is committed to creating an environment free of harassment and discrimination.

Notice of Non-Discrimination

°µÍø½ûÇø (LSCO) provides equal access and opportunity for all persons regardless of race, sex, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, age, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or veteran status, in employment, educational programs, and activities and admissions. LSCO complies with Title IX of the Higher Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX), which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs or activities; Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), which prohibits sex discrimination in employment; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which prohibits discrimination based on disability, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, which prohibits discrimination based on age, and the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act. Sexual misconduct, as defined in the College’s Sexual Misconduct Policy, constitutes a form of sex discrimination prohibited by Title IX and Title VII.

For questions concerning our non-discrimination policy, you may contact our Title IX Coordinator Rebecca Gentry at (409) 882-3910, Accessibility Coordinator Morgan Milligan at (409) 882-3393 or the Office for Civil Rights at (214) 661-9600.

Where to Report

Anonymous Sexual Misconduct and Title IX Reporting

°µÍø½ûÇø promotes prompt reporting of all forms of sexual misconduct. To ensure all students, faculty, and staff have an option for electronic reporting of an incident of sexual misconduct, LSCO has created an online, secure reporting form. This form will enable an individual to report the alleged offense anonymously. Access the .
